Fantasy Football Outlook: The downside for Lamar Miller is that he landed with the Dolphins on draft day. The upside is that he landed on the Dolphins on draft day.
While Miller will start out behind Reggie Bush and Daniel Thomas initially, I like his chances to move up the depth chart.
Miller is a perfect fit for the zone blocking scheme, which is what the Dolphins will be running under Mike Sherman. Thomas struggled last year, and because he was drafted by the old coaching staff, he won’t be given a long leash.
As for Bush, he will be the starter but we all know about his health issues, and they will crop up again. Early on Miller may play more as a receiver, just to help him get on the field.
As for his dynasty prospects, I like Miller’s odds to fight for the starting job by next year, and he could hold some redraft value in the second half of the season. Bottom line, this is a player you need to remember because his day will be coming and when he gets it, he should excel.
