Fantasy Football Outlook: The draft couldn’t have gone worse for LeGarrette Blount; not only did the Buccaneers take Doug Martin in the first round, but they also selected Michael Smith in the later rounds.
Smith was the backup to Robert Turbin at Utah State, but he could end up having a more productive career. Smith has decent size for a big play running back, and I like that Head Coach Greg Schiano noted Smith, “jumps off the tape at you.”
As long as Blount has a good camp, I expect him to be the backup, but Smith is the future backup for Martin and in this run heavy offense, he should get an opportunity at some point. This year he’s nothing more than a late round addition in dynasty leagues.
