2013 Experience: 5th Season Dynasty owners with Mike Goodson were hoping this would be the year he would get an opportunity to start as he signed a three-year contract with the Jets. Perhaps, but with the addition of Chris Ivory via trade with the Saints for a 4th round pick, we should anticipate Goodson being used as the change of pace option.
Good for PPR leagues in that Ivory isn’t much for the passing game, and Goodson has respectable skills in this area. All that said, Ivory is known for his injuries so we could see Goodson have a chance to start for a few games at some point.

A name to remember, Mike Goodson fell out of favor with the Panthers new coaching staff, and moved on to Oakland this off-season. With Michael Bush out of the picture, Goodson only has to beat out Taiwan Jones for the bulk of the work, if Darren McFadden goes down.
Clearly a battle to keep an eye on through training camp, Goodson is a nice hold in dynasty leagues, and you should give serious consideration to holding him as hand cuff to McFadden.

With the re-signing of DeAngelo Williams, Mike Goodson will remain as the Panthers No.3 running back, killing his fantasy value as a possible starter, if Jonathan Stewart should fall to injury.

2011 June Outlook
The Panthers are struggling to find consistent play in the passing game and on the offensive line but their running back depth is top notch. Mike Goodson has been stuck behind Jonathan Stewart and DeAngelo Williams in his first two seasons but with Williams down for most of 2010, he received more work in the offense.
It will be interesting to see if Williams does in fact become a free agent this season or next season as his presence would squash any value Goodson would have. If Williams leaves, Goodson is a strong candidate as a hand cuff option to Jonathan Stewart as he can be a fantasy starter if Stewart is banged up.
One of Goodson’s main problems in his game is his fumbling wows and that could easily take away more playing time in his future. Still, this is a kid with good talent and he can make things happen in the open field.
