Fantasy Football Outlook: Turbin had a nice rookie season, but with the addition of Christine Michael in the second round of this years draft, we may see him drop to third on the depth chart. As various draftniks have pointed out this off-season, Michael probably had the best talent of any running back in this years class.
Problem is he’s had character concerns and it appeared many felt he would fall into the later round or possibly be a UDFA pickup (ala Da’Rick Rogers), but the Seahawks took him within the first 75 players in the draft, so you know they had a high grade on him.
Turbin may start the season as the backup to Marshawn Lynch, but keep an eye on Michael’s pass protection grades from his coaches because that is probably the biggest weakness in his game that could keep Turbin ahead of him. Then again, many running backs have that problem coming out of college, and Michael’s plenty big enough to hold his own in that area.
Either way, if Lynch goes down, whomever gets the most looks between Michael and Turbin could have some really good value in fantasy leagues.

Summer of 2012: Fantasy Projection
While I liked Robert Turbin in the few games I watched of his back in college, comparisons to Shonn Greene are reasonable. Like Greene, Turbin has the size and body build that would suggest he can barrel over defenders, but he runs more like a scat back.
Fear not as I believe this can be corrected through coaching and while Turbin is better than Greene in some ways, he will be an exclusive backup to Marshawn Lynch.
Then again, this is the role Greene should be in as he’s nothing more than a glorified backup, but the Jets can’t seem to figure it out.
Anyway, Turbin may see a few games as a starter because Lynch does have a history of being banged up. Factor in that Lynch received his new contact, and he could rest on his laurels, which might force the Seahawks to bench him down the road.
At this time Turbin is nothing more than a late round stash and possible hand cuff in deep leagues for Lynch owners.
