Fantasy Football Outlook: The loss of Ryan Grant in week one of the season was a big blow to the Packers running game and to fantasy owners as he was a clear top 30 overall draft pick in many leagues. While Grant is expected to handle the starting duties for Green Bay this season, young running backs like James Starks and rookie Alex Green, figure to see time in the offense, as well.
By biggest concern for Grant is that he may fail to score over six touchdowns, and the team may limit regular touches per game because of the young runners on the depth chart. Since the Packers won the Super Bowl, they are obviously going to be a heavy favorite to return to the post season, and it would be a good idea to keep Grant fresh for January. Both Starks and Green are capable of pickup work as the Packers are expected to let Grant go in free agency after this season and us their two young runners in a committee, moving forward.
Heading into the summer Grant’s ADP value on Mock Draft Central stands in as the 25th running back (53.81 average pick) selected in standard leagues and has basically the same value in PPR leagues. On Fantasy Football Calculator, Grants ADP value ranks out as the 23rd running back (55 average pick) selected in ten team standard redraft leagues.
These rankings would place Grant as a 6th round pick in ten team leagues and a flex play option for your fantasy team, and that is a fair value for this proven veteran.

2010 Preview
Ryan Grant suffered a bad ankle injury week one of the regular season and is done for the year. Brandon Jackson will take his place in the starting lineup and should be a fantasy starter for at least week two and bye weeks. Fantasy owners will be hurt by the loss of Grant and this injury is just another reminder of how fast a star player can be gone on one play.
2010 Fantasy Football Outlook
2009 Fantasy Year In Review: Ryan Grant had a bounce back season in 2009 as he posted over 1,2oo yards and eleven touchdowns. Not only did Grant have a good year, but he was very solid down the stretch in December and helped fantasy owners win championships.
This is the kind of performance that made Grant worth having as a top fifteen fantasy running back talent.

2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Grant may not be the greatest pass catcher or the biggest yard producer at the running back position. That said, he is a very nice No.2 running back for any fantasy owner to have as he can put on respectable numbers in a great offense.
With Aaron Rogers as the teams’ quarterback you know defenses are going to respect the passing game, and they won’t be able to cheat up at the line to stop the run. This allows Grant to see a limited amount of eight man fronts throughout the season and makes him an attractive player for production.
With Grant’s contract problems behind him from a couple of years ago, he will be in good shape coming into this season once again. Expect a productive fantasy season from the Packers top man on the ground.
