Fantasy Football Outlook: Adding Sheldon Richardson to go with Muhammad Wilkerson to the front line should be a good move for New York. While the Jets will have a solid NFL defense, I just don’t believe they will be much better in terms of pressure off the edge from their outside linebackers.
That’s a big part of a 3-4 base defense and without it, the Jets are probably best left off (not to mention the offensive play that puts them in bad situations) your draft board as an option to select as a starting defense. They will be worth looking at as a matchup play off the waiver wire.

Summer of 2012: Fantasy Projections
Ah yes, the Jets! While last year was one to forget, as long as this group is humbled and ready to get back to basics, they will be a top fantasy defense by years end.
No, they likely won’t have a dominant group against the run, and will struggle at times, but I do expect the pass rush to be better and you can count on pass coverage to be solid.
Quinton Coples, like Dontari Poe in Kansas City has to be one of the more polarizing players to come out of this years’ draft. Can Coples play up to the talent we know he has, or will he look like his college game film and slack off at times?
With so much on the line for New York, I’m willing to believe Ryan will get the most out of Coples this year, and he should be a productive tag team end wit Muhammad Wilkerson on the other side.
Target the Jets as a quality starting defense for your team, but make sure you have a rotational backup for tough matchups.
Summer of 2011: Fantasy Projections
The Darrelle Revisholdout hurt this teams fantasy stock in the season as Revis predictably struggled with health because he missed so much time in summer camps. With Revis back and added help upfront in the draft, I expect the Jets to bounce back as a top five defense throughout the season. Mark Sanchez is now coming into his third season, and I expect the offense to have better consistency if their quarterback is ready to take the next step in his career.Look for the Jets to continue to put pressure on the quarterback and Revis should be strong from week one all the way through the season.

2010 Preview
Darrelle Revis may not be the best all around corner in football, but he is clearly the best shut down cover corner. With the ability to shut down any receiver in football and do it every week, the Jets’ defense makes for a top flight fantasy option in 2010.
2010 Fantasy Football Outlook
2009 Fantasy Year In Review: Rex Ryan took a good defense and gave it the confidence to take on the world as the Jets believed the could win anywhere. For a group that only went nine and seven they showed they could play with the big boys in the playoffs.
Corner back Darrelle Revis became a superstar as fantasy owners learned he could shut down great receivers every week.

2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: With the addition of Antonio Cromartie and Jason Taylor in free agency, the Jets defense could take their defensive play to another level.
Look for first round pick corner Kyle Wilson should be a great player for years to come and if Cromartie struggles he might start at some point. If defensive tackle Kris Jenkins comes back for a full season this unit should be a great one to have each and every week.
