Fantasy Football Outlook: “Help me Mark Sanchez your my only hope.” Hopefully, you’re not pigeonholed into having Dustin Keller as your only reliable dynasty tight end, because your success lies on Sanchez showing development, fast.
The Jets have a tough pass schedule to begin the season, and if Sanchez should struggle it’s Tim Tebow time. That’s would likely mean bad things for Keller, as he would remain in involved but clearly, he would turn into more of a blocking tight end.
Stay away from Keller this year, and let’s see where things are in 2013 as the Jets drama never seems to end.

Summer of 2011: Fantasy Projections
Dustin Keller did build on his numbers from previous seasons in 2010, but he wasn’t the breakout tight his Coach Rex Ryan predicted he would be in the spring. Part of the problem for Keller is that Mark Sanchezis still developing as a pro quarterback, and he hasn’t gained the trust from his coaching staff to full take over the offense.What that basically means is that the Jets still play a run heavy offense because Sanchez isn’t ready to make the offense better by throwing it often like veterans in the league. I believe Keller will at least get back to the numbers he had a year ago, and could find more activity as Sanchez continues to mature.
Heading into the summer, Keller’s ADP value is a little overrated on Mock Draft Central as he’s listed as the 8th tight end taken in standard redraft leagues. Look to Keller as a top fifteen option that is great to have as a backup to start the season, and has the upside to be a weekly starter.

2010 Preview
Dustin Keller had a slow regular season with a rookie quarterback, but he came on strong in the playoffs. With such a solid performance, the future looks bright for Keller and Sanchez. This year Keller makes for a nice late round pick.

2009 Fantasy Year In Review: Dustin Keller suffered in production last season as he went from having Brett Favre to a rookie in Mark Sanchez. With a first year quarterback on the field Keller was pulled throughout the season for a better overall blocking tight end.
This led to Keller posting only 45 receptions and two touchdowns in the regular season. In the post season, we started to see Sanchez mature and that effected Keller’s production right away as he had at least three receptions and a touchdown in all three of the teams’ post season games.

2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Even Coach Rex Ryan is riding the fantasy steal band wagon for Keller as he pubically noted he should produce much better. This is the kind of talk you want to hear from a coach as the Jets are noticeably opening things up more in practice this offseason.
Sanchez was solid in the post season as he instilled more confidence in his coaches that he is becoming ready to lead the team. With a better overall understanding for success in the NFL, Sanchez will see more pass opportunity this coming year.
For Keller, the team is planning to use him full time on the field and offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer his creating special plays for his tight end. Put it all together and Keller is a fantasy sleeper indeed and fantasy owners would be wise to nab him up late in the draft at least for depth.
