Fantasy Football Outlook: Now in Denver, Jacob Tamme is reunited with his old quarterback Peyton Manning. Tamme filled in well a few years back when Dallas Clark was injured, and he will serve as the joker tight end in this offense.

While the Broncos have two talented outside receivers in Eric Decker and Demaryius Thomas, I question their overall receiving depth, and this could mean Tamme is on the field more often.

However, I find his current ADP trends as the 8th tight end (8.03, 12 team) to be a little high, as he’s better suited to be a backup. Tamme will be active in the offense, but he’s not a game breaking tight end, nor is he an inline tight end, that will play a majority of snaps.

Summer of 2011: Fantasy Projections

The Colts were seemingly in trouble when they lost Dallas Clark for the season with a wrist injury but Jacob Tamme stepped in and had a strong second half of the season, catching 67 passes. Clearly Tamme has earned a bigger role, but he won’t be close to a fantasy option with Clark back this season.

If anything should happen to Clark that would make him miss time, Tamme would be an instant addition off the waiver wire and you would be able to start him right away. Consider Tamme a great, hand cuff tight end (feels weird saying that for a tight end) to Clark at the end of your draft this summer.
