Fantasy Football Outlook: Failing to impress his new coaches in Tampa Bay, Kellen Winslow was sent packing to Seattle and will play in a two tight end offense with Zack Miller as more of the inline option. Expect Winslow to move around in the offense as a Joker tight end and while I like that role, I’m not sure he will be worth much for your fantasy team.
At best, Winslow is a TE2 this year as the Seahawks are going to be a run heavy team; if they can’t pass protect better, Winslow’s snap count may see a reduction from his time in Florida.
I also think you will see Seattle opt to keep Doug Baldwin in over Winslow if they decide to go with a slot option, a majority of the time. Baldwin is a emerging talent, and while he’s not dynamic like Victor Cruz in New York, he’s one of the better third-down receivers in the game already.
Simply put, don’t look to Winslow as an option in leagues of 12 teams or fewer.

Early 2012 Fantasy Projections
Why even think about taking Kellen Winslow? Well…at the end the end of the day this guy racks up the receptions and because Tampa Bay will likely struggle on defense, they will be forced to throw, in the second half of games.
Winslow clearly isn’t the play maker we hoped he would be out of college, but perhaps his motorcycle injury is the cause. Whatever the reason, Winslow should remain as an unexciting TE2 on your squad, holding better value in PPR leagues.
Summer of 2011: Fantasy Projections
While the Buccaneers enjoyed a prosperous season in 2010, Kellen Winslow actually had a better season in 2009 when Josh Freeman was on the bench. Part of the reason for Winslow’s down production had to do with breakout rookie producers as receiver Mike Williams and running back LeGarrette Blountcommanded more attention in the offense.Another problem for Winslow is that he had a nagging knee injury that almost required surgery this off-season but Winslow opted not to get it. Heading into the summer, Winslow says he feels good and hasn’t shown any problems in player workouts. That’s good to hear, but I will feel better about Winslow when the team starts putting pads on, and they really start to get physical in practice and in preseason games.
While many will look to Winslow as a top twelve option at tight end this season, I will be looking for someone without the health concerns because I am not sure if his knee will hold up or not.

2010 Preview
Kellen Winslow had a decent season in his first year with the Buccaneers. Look for Winslow to produce a bit better this year as Josh Freeman now has a season under his belt.
2010 Fantasy Football Outlook
2009 Fantasy Year In Review: Kellen Winslow had a productive first year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as he totaled 77 receptions for 884 yards and five touchdowns. It was hard for fantasy owners to know what to expect from Winslow however because he was on a bad team and had a rotating quarterbacks.
In the second half of the season rookie quarterback Josh Freeman proved that he could get the football to Winslow and this will help his fantasy value going forward.

2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Even though Freeman looks to Winslow regularly, we still have Winslow down in our rankings. This season there is a good class of fantasy tight ends and Winslow has one of the more un-proven quarterbacks of all the top targets to choose from.
Look for Winslow as one of the later starting tight ends to choose from at your up coming fantasy football draft. If you’re in a PPR or yardage league, Winslow will have more value than a touchdown heavy league.
