Fantasy Football Outlook: The man was flipping awesome last year, and while he’s unlikely to produce those numbers again, it’s hard to argue with any fantasy owner snagging him in the first round. Current ADP trends have Rob Gronkowski landing as the first tight end off the board in the second round, and that is fair, because he will still be Tom Brady’s favorite red-zone target.
However, I do expect the football to be spread around more as new / old offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels is in town. McDaniels will likely push the football down the field more with Brandon Lloyd and even Chad Ochocinco at times.
Still, I can’t see the Patriots game scripts neglecting Gronkowski for less than 80 receptions and twelve touchdowns. Defenses just can’t seem to stop this guy, in the red zone, even if they put two or three guys around him. Simply put, expect another great year from Gronkowski, and he should be an elite option at his position as long as Brady is around.

Summer of 2011: Fantasy Projections
Questions about Rob Gronkowski’s previous back problems were an issue heading into this rookie season in that many fantasy experts had to tail back expectations on the young talent. Throughout last season Gronkowski was in full health as he reportedly failed to miss a game or a practice throughout the season.
Not only did Gronkowski not miss time, but he went on to score ten touchdowns and asserted himself as one of Tom Brady’sfavorite targets around the end zone.
While I’m not sure if Gronkowski will reach double digit scores this year, his presence on the field should continue to develop as fellow second year tight end Aaron Hernandez is return from off-season hip surgery. While Hernandez is looking fine heading into the summer, Gronkowski is clearly the starter on this team and is worthy of being a teams starting tight end in ten team leagues.

2010 Preview
Rob Gronkowski was the second tight end drafted overall as a second round selection. While Gronkowski has a bunch of talent, he is coming of a serious back problem and could suffer from being injury prone. To make matters worse the Patriots selected Aaron Hernandez and I believe he is a better pass catcher than Gronkowski. Still, Gronkowski should get first licks to be Tom Brady’s new No.1 receiver.
2010 Fantasy Football Outlook
College / 2010 NFL Draft: Rob Gronkowski missed the entire 2009 season for Arizona because of back problems. This was a knock on the gifted tight end coming into the draft, but he was still talented enough to be a second round selection by the New England Patriots.
Unfortunately, for Gronkowski the team also drafted the talented tight end Aaron Hernandez in the fourth round, and he might steal production from him.

2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: In OTA’s Gronkowski has lined up in the traditional tight end position as the Patriots are moving Hernandez around in the slot and using him as an H-back. This in all likelihood will be the area’s you see these two tight ends playing this year as it makes sense for the team to have them in these spots.
Hernandez is a more natural pass catcher and route runner, and he is capable of being moved around and doing different things. Gronkowski is a decent blocker with the ability to be a good pass catcher as well.
So far, in practice Gronkowski says that his back issues are all in the past, and he is feeling great. I’m still concerned about his ability to play a full season but early on he should be fine. At this time, Gronkowski isn’t worth selecting on draft day as we need to see if he can get enough consistent work in this offense.
