Fantasy Football Outlook: So much for a rookie receiver struggling . A.J. Green was everything we hoped for coming out of Georgia, as he played like a skilled veteran instantly.
With the progression of Andy Dalton and Jay Gruden calling the plays, I have no problem with ranking Green as a legit top ten receiver.
Even last year Greg Cosell noted (start time 22:26) Green has, “Randy Moss potential,” furthermore saying Green is, “the complete package and hes’ only going to get better.”
Maybe Green won’t be as good as Moss in terms of a big-play threat, but he’s close. However, in Green you don’t have to worry about him being a drama queen and he’s a much more polished receiver than Moss ever was.
Look to Green as a worthy addition on your squad as early as the third round of the draft. In dynasty leagues, it’s hard to see Green falling outside the top three or four receivers, if your starting a league from scratch.

Summer of 2011: Fantasy Projections
The Bengals are starting over on offense, but we don’t know for sure if A.J. Green will have Carson Palmer or Andy Dalton starting at quarterback. Obviously Green’s fantasy value will get a boost if Palmer does come back but the veteran has more than expressed his displeasure with the Bengals, and that he wants to be traded.
Veteran receiver Chad Ochocinco is all but gone from the team this year so youngsters like A.J. Green and Jordan Shipley will need to pick up the production left behind. If Palmer does comeback, Green makes for an interesting late round selection and while I believe he will still be drafted if Dalton is his quarterback, I don’t believe he will be a viable option in that situation.
For dynasty leagues, I have Julio Jones as the better receiver to own because he has a young rising star quarterback in Matt Ryan that will get him the football, right away. For Green, if Dalton turns out to be a bust it could take a few years before this talented receiver gets to show what he can do with a respectable quarterback under center.
