Fantasy Football Outlook: Health has been a problem for Andre Johnson in recent seasons as he missed three games in 2010 with an ankle injury and another nine games last year due to hamstring problems.
Those fantasy owners who had him last year, may not go after him again as a top five receiver, but he’s still worth it.
What I did like from Johnson is he was able to flash quality production in the playoffs as he posted over 200 yards receiving in his two games played. This was with T.J. Yates throwing the football, and one of those performances was against the Ravens in Baltimore.
The Texans have gone away from being a pass heavy offense, and are one of the better rushing teams in football. That said, Johnson will remain as one of the top targeted players in the game and we know he’s still one of the best route runners in the game.
Johnson may run into some health problems along the way, but I still expect him to be one of the top-scoring players at his position.

Summer of 2011: Fantasy Projections
While Andre Johnson is still looking for his first double digit touchdown season of his career in year nine, but he always seems to come close as he post eight or nine most years. Johnson’s reception and yardage totals were down for the full season, but he missed three games and played on a bad ankle for the entire season. Not a bad year for a guy basically on one leg but it looks like Johnson’s recovery is all good after he had surgery on the ankle in January. Look for Johnson to bounce back with another year of over 100 receptions and over 1,500 yards receiving as the Texans make another run for their first trip to the playoffs in franchise history.
Heading into the summer, Johnson is listed as the No.2 receiver in PPR and standard redraft leagues on Mock Draft Central behind Roddy White of the Falcons. While White had a great season in 2011, he’s not going to be listed as the top option to take in either formats on our website as Calvin Johnson is our top man for standard league play and Andre Johnson is still our top man for PPR leagues.
Sure, White had 115 catches last season but his normal total for a year is around the mid 80′s while Johnson is over 100 a year when healthy. I don’t see Johnson’s injury problem lingering unless we hear of signs in the summer, but thus far, everything is going great.

2010 Preview
Andre Johnson is clearly one of the best receivers a fantasy owner can draft. My only problem with ranking Johnson as the clear No.1 fantasy receiver for 2010 is that he’s never had more than nine touchdowns in a single season.
2010 Fantasy Football Outlook
2009 Fantasy Year In Review: Andre Johnson posted another fabulous yardage season as he proved ready to be the top fantasy receiver in most fantasy football formats. The only type of league Johnson doesn’t dominate in at top end is touchdown heavy leagues.
For all Johnson’s success, he has still failed to have a season with double digit touchdowns. That said, this season could be his first to go over that mark.

2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Johnson may not rack up a huge touchdown total, but he does consistently produce high volume reception and yardage weeks throughout a season. The Texans’ offense is only getting better as quarterback Matt Schaub continues to pick up the subtleties of the game.
Outside of heavy touchdown leagues, Johnson should be the top fantasy receiver to take on draft day as he is ready to produce another fabulous fantasy season.
