2011 Fantasy Football Outlook: The Washington Redskins had a meltdown last season as Donovan McNabb was projected to be the clear starting quarterback for the next few years, but instead he was benched on several occasions. Through it all, speedster Anthony Armstrong quietly put together an impressive rookie season with 871 yards and a terrific 19.8 yard per catch average.
With Santana Moss likely headed to another team via free agency, Armstrong is projected to be one of the Redskins starting receivers. John Beck is also likely to be the teams starting quarterback, with McNabb likely gone because of a huge roster bonus if he stays. Unless Armstrong has a great preseason, he’s probably won’t get much attention at fantasy drafts this summer, but he will probably be a waiver wire pickup at some point in ten team standard redraft leagues.
8/2011 Update - The Redskins have brought in a few veterans to compete with Armstrong for a starting position, but I feel Armstrong will win a starting job opposite Santana Moss at some point. This kid has decent skills and they need his big play ability on the field.
