Ben Obomanu

Ben Obomanu | WR

2011 Fantasy Football Outlook: After Deion Branch was traded away Ben Obomanu stepped up to play a bigger role in the Seahawks passing game and even found the list of waiver wire pickups on many websites. A nasty hand injury later in the season slowed Obomanu down but the team resigned him to a team friendly three year deal in January.

While second year receiver Golden Tate is expected to push Obomanu for the No.2 receiver, opposite Mike Williams, the young pass catcher needs to show vast improvement to take the job for good. Don’t look to Obomanu as a viable option to draft in the summer, but if he can hold a starting job, he may be a waiver wire candidate once again.

8/2011 Update - Even if Obomanu beats out Tate on the depth chart he won’t crack the starting job after the Seahawks landed Sidney Rice in free agency. Look for Seattle to go with Rice and Williams the the regular starters.
