Fantasy Football Outlook: A knee injury in week seventeen left a cloud of doubt as to the health of Davone Bess for the start of season. As of OTAs it appears Bess will be just fine (April 25th update) as the knee has recovered.
With Brandon Marshall gone, and no significant additions in the receiving core, we could see Bess pull off a career year. Target Bess as a late round addition, and he should hold better value in PPR leagues.

Summer of 2011: Fantasy Projections
Davone Bess may not get much consideration on draft day but he seems to find his way on at least PPR rosters at some point during the season. What I like about Bess is that he continues to improve his numbers each year in receptions, yardage and touchdowns and quietly found a way to be the Dolphins No.2 receiver opposite Brandon Marshall.
Bess may start on slow to begin the season, but he’s at least worth a late round selection in twelve team PPR leagues to start. If the Dolphins can get some better quarterback play, Bess might even come close to 90 receptions and 1,000 yards if they continue to give him quality playing time.

With Greg Camarillo gone to the Vikings Davone Bess has a chance to be a factor for fantasy football leagues and especally PPR leagues. Bess tends to start slow and finish strong so you may find him as a decent waiver wire option in the second half.
2010 Fantasy Football Outlook
2009 Fantasy Year In Review: Davone Bess was a fun player to watch in his time with Hawaii during college. In the pro’s he’s proven to be a valuable receiver for the Dolphins in his first two seasons as he posted 76 receptions last year. As an undersized receiver Bess has value in PPR leagues, but he’s never going to be a strong touchdown maker.
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Bess is entrenched as the Dolphins’ slot man for this season, and he should still rack up a decent total of catches. With Brandon Marshall on the team, all the momentum Bess had coming into his third year has been washed away.
If it wasn’t for Marshall, Bess would have made for a good option in the later part of PPR league drafts, but now he is probably only a waiver wire pickup. Bess needs to show he can stay active on a weekly basis and that will depend on quarterback Chad Henne’s development.
