Greg Jennings

Greg Jennings | Green Bay Packers | WR

Height: 5-11 Weight: 198 | Born: 9/21/1983

2011 Experience: 6th season

Fantasy Football Outlook: After a disappointing 2009 season, Greg Jennings re-established himself as a true top ten receiver in fantasy football with over 1,200 yards receiving and 12 touchdowns. With Aaron Rodgers running the show, you can count on Jennings to be a dependable No.1 receiver moving forward as I’m confident the “timing” issues these two had down the field, in 2009 are a thing of the past.

Heading into the summer, Jennings ADP value on Mock Draft Central lists him as the 5th best receiver to take in standard scoring leagues and the 6th best in PPR leagues. These rankings place Jennings as a third round pick in ten team leagues and up to a late second round pick in 12 team leagues. If you feel confident in Jennings, go with him, but if you like another receiver in this range, that is probably the one you should take as your asking that pass catcher to be the top scoring on your team, for that position.

2010 Preview

Greg Jennings was supposed to be a top five receiving talent coming into 2009. Instead of performing at a high level, Jennings became just another name in Rodgers band of marry men. With so many targets in Green Bay, Jennings numbers will continue to suffer.

2010 Fantasy Football Outlook

2009 Fantasy Year In Review: Greg Jennings was a clear top ten fantasy receiver coming into the 2009 football season. Two years in a row Jennings posted at least nine touchdowns and did so with two different quarterbacks.

Unfortunately Aaron Rodgers couldn’t seem to find Jennings on the long ball all year as their timing was off. This killed Jennings touchdown total as he thrives off the big play and isn’t a large target inside the red zone. Because Rodgers also had so many other quality weapons, Jennings touchdowns fell to a miserable four on the season.

2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: One trend I’m noticing from different fantasy football writers and sites is that they seem to have Jennings as a lock to return to a high touchdown total. If Rodgers has better timing with Jennings on the deep ball than I could see a return to at least seven scores this season.

Still, we have to drop Jennings in our fantasy player rankings because of all the good pass catchers that are in this offense. Rodgers has a great ability to read defensive coverage, and he has the time in the pocket to get to his third or fourth read in his progression on a passing play.

Jennings will be heavily guarded once again as teams look to make him the top priority to stop every week. Because of this I’m still concerned that Jennings may have a continued slump in production this up coming year.

This receiver is very talented, but I highly recommend you not select him as your first receiver at your fantasy football draft this summer.
