Fantasy Football Outlook: A scary healthy issue led to Jeremy Maclin missing most of training camp last summer. Maclin made it through the season but his production was clearly down, and that is understandable, given his situation.

This offseason seems to be a different story as Maclin has added on weight in hopes to improve his durability.

Look for the Eagles to bounce back, and if you can draft Maclin at his going rate (28th receiver in recent ADP trends) consider him a terrific, upside WR3 addition.

Summer of 2011: Fantasy Projections

This has been a tough off-season for Jeremy Maclin in terms of his health but thankfully it looks like everything is moving in the right direction, and he should find the football field. While it’s great news for the Eagles passing attack that Maclin will be around, don’t expect him to play at the same level as last year for at least the first four to six weeks of the regular season.

Maclin’s health issues date back into the spring and he lost weight and conditioning in the process. It will take him time to get his strength and cardio back up, so if you draft him, expect to bench him in the early going until he starts to return to normal.

June 2011

Jeremy Maclin broke-out as a receiver worth starting weekly in his second year with the Eagles. While Maclin needs to prove he can build on those numbers, it may be hard for him to do so with DeSean Jackson and possibly Plaxico Burress on the team this year. I like Maclin as a top twenty receiver, but I must admit he’s not a lock to perform at a No.2 value just yet.

Heading into the summer, Maclin’s ADP value on Mock Draft Central has him listed as the 13th receiver taking in mock draft for standard league rules. I find that ranking to be too high for a receiver who needs to continue his development in receptions and yardage from his 2010 numbers to be an early selection as a teams No.2 receiver. Maclin is clearly at top twenty five option, but he may disappoint you will a lack of consistency at times.

2010 Preview

Jeremy Maclin is a talented young receiver but he will probably have to wait another year before he’s a fantasy starter with Donovan McNabb gone.

2010 Fantasy Football Outlook

2009 Fantasy Year In Review: Jeremy Maclin is a big play receiver, because of this it’s no wonder he can fade in and out of production. In his rookie season, Maclin was a starter opposite DeSean Jackson, and he posted 55 receptions for 762 yards and four touchdowns.

This was an encouraging rookie season for Maclin as he was also productive in the teams only playoff game as well.

2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Maclin will probably have a decent NFL career, but I still need to see more from the talented first rounder before I’m a big fan of his for fantasy football. With Jackson and Brent Celek already established targets on this team, Maclin needs to show he can beat one on one coverage on a consistent basis.

If he does this than he will not only make Kevin Kolb a better fantasy quarterback, but he will be a rising fantasy threat for owners to have. This season Maclin makes for a nice stash away player but not the type of guy you want to count on every week to start the season.
