Jerricho Cotchery | WR

2011 Fantasy Football Outlook:The Jets seemed to have no problems releasing veteran Jerricho Cotchery when the lockout ended. Now with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cotchery will provide the team with quality depth in the receiving core and will help this squad with key plays from time to time. Don’t view him as a fantasy option as Cotchery will need to find a starting job via injuries, as he’s fit to be the No.4 or 5 receiver on the depth chart.

June 2011

Many have held out hope over the years that Jerricho Cotchery would develop into a No.2 type of fantasy receiver but his overall numbers and especially touchdown totals have never made him that kind of player. Cotchery, at best, has been a matchup play off the waiver wire, and he will probably stay that way in 2011, as the team is expected to get Santonio Holmes back in free agency and possibly acquire Randy Moss as well.

2010 Preview

Jerricho Cotchery watched his fantasy value fall into the abyss after the team traded for Santonio Holmes this past April. Holmes will serve a four game suspension to start the year but after that, Cotchery is not a fantasy option with so many weapons and a young, developing quarterback.

2010 Fantasy Football Outlook

2009 Fantasy Year In Review: Jerricho Cotchery was doomed for a drop in production after the departure of Brett Favre and the addition of a rookie starting quarterback. For the year Cotchery did still go over 800 yards but his touchdown total dropped down to three.

2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: The past two offseason’s haven’t been kind to Cotchery has this time around the team traded for Santonio Holmes. With Braylon Edwards and Holmes on the team Cotchery is expected to be the teams’ slot receiver when Holmes returns from his four game suspension.

For the first month of the season Cotchery will be a starter but after that he will see less work in the offense. Even though Mark Sanchez is continuing to make strides in his career, Cotchery isn’t worth a roster spot on your fantasy squad.
