2011 Fantasy Football Outlook: Coming into last years off-season, I thought Kevin Walter was going to leave the Texans as he was a free agency, and the team had youngster Jacoby Jones to take his place. While Coach Gary Kubiak praised Jones for his growth as a receiver the team obviously didn’t feel he could start opposite Andre Johnson as the resigned Walter to be the No.2 receiver.
While Walter enjoyed a breakout second half in 2008, he’s failed to play at that level in the past two seasons, as he’s clearly more of a contributor to Matt Schaub’s numbers than a worth fantasy starter. At best Walter is worth snagging off the waiver wire if you need a starter in a pinch and the Texans play a weak pass defense.
