Fantasy Football Outlook: Larry Fitzgerald is the Adrian Peterson or Maurice Jones-Drew of receivers. He’s played on a struggling offense for a few years, but he still finds a way to get the job done.
Fitzgerald will have another respectable season, but the addition of rookie Michael Floyd probably means fewer targets his way.
Targets really shouldn’t be much of a concern to fantasy owners, nor should the occasional big play made by Floyd; likely to get single coverage against a lesser corner. The real question is, can the Cardinals get respectable quarterback play?
Kevin Kolb struggled badly last year, and John Skelton showed flashes, but he needs to show more improvement. I still like Fitzgerald as a top ten receiver, but I’m not sure he should be one of the top five elites on your list.

Summer of 2011: Fantasy Projections
For all the quarterback changes in Arizona Fitzgerald still had 90 receptions on the season, and that should tell you how good this guy really is. Sure, he only had six touchdowns and at times didn’t play close to a top ten receiver, but considering the situation, many other receivers would have suffered even worse. It looks like help is on the way for Fitzgerald as the team is expected to make a trade for either Kevin Kolb or Kyle Orton when the lockout ends. A reliable quarterback would make Fitzgerald a clear top ten receiver in standard and PPR league scoring. While Fitzgerald will find his way over 90 receptions and 1,100 yards once again, fantasy owners will be expecting him to reach around ten touchdowns on the season, and I believe that will happen with an upgrade at quarterback.
8/2011 Update – The Cardinals did trade for Kevin Kolb so view the projected stats below, as legitimate as Fitzgerald is clearly a top ten receiver to target in all leagues.

2010 Preview
Larry Fitzgerald’s fantasy value is dropping after he suffered a sprained MCL in the first week of the preseason. While Fitzgerald is expected to be ready for the regular season opener, fantasy owners have to be concerned about his knee.
2010 Fantasy Football Outlook
2009 Fantasy Year In Review: After Larry Fitzgerald had his fabulous 2009 post season run the hype train was on as many had him ranked to be the top fantasy receiver in up coming drafts.
While Fitzgerald did set a career mark in touchdowns with 13 last year his yardage total took a big drop as he totaled 1,092 yards on the season.

2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Kurt Warner is gone and Matt Leinart needs to prove he’s a worthy starting quarterback in the NFL. This turnover hurts Fitzgerald fantasy value but not as much as you might think.
Leinart and Fitzgerald have hooked up well in the past and the departure of Anquan Boldin allows Fitzgerald to be the only star receiver on the team. Steve Breaston should be a decent compliment to Fitzgerald, but he’s not a touchdown maker.
Look for Fitzgerald to go over 1,000 yards and double digit touchdowns once again.
