Louis Murphy | WR
2011 Fantasy Football Outlook: When he’s being arrested for possession of Viagra, Louis Murphy is a part of the Raiders passing game as the young receiver heads into his third year. While I like Murphy as a decent contributor to the Raiders offense, he’s a long way away from being a fantasy relevant receiver. The Raiders have a few different young options that “could” be something for fantasy, and at this time Jacoby Ford seems to be the more likely option to do “something” possibly this season.

Unless Heyward-Bey makes big strides this off-season, Louis Murphy will start as the No.2 receiver for the Raiders. Murphy had an impressive season for a player that wasn’t expected to the teams top rookie receiver.
2010 Fantasy Football Outlook
2009 Fantasy Year In Review: Darrius Heyward-Bey may have been the first receiver taken in the 2009 draft but Louis Murphy was the more valuable rookie for the Raiders. While Bey was having a hard time inching over ten receptions for the season Murphy was showing us he has potential to be a good player.
For the season Murphy posted 34 receptions for 521 yards and four touchdowns in his first year out of college. This was highlighted by his 128 yard, two touchdown performance to help the Raiders beat the Steelers on the road.
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: I will never disagree with Chaz Schilens being one of the Raiders starting receivers but Heyward- Bey, I’m not so sure about. To Heyward-Bey’s credit, he has been much improved in OTA’s and new quarterback Jason Campbell is working with him a lot.
At the end of the day Heyward-Bey will have to perform much better on the field to stay a starter over Murphy as he will be waiting in the wings.
