Malcolm Kelly | WR
2011 Fantasy Football Outlook: If Malcolm Kelly fails to make the Redskins this season the teams draft from four years ago when they selected Kelly and Devin Thomas is a complete failure. This failed situation is just another reason why the Redskins have struggled as an organization with average to poor drafts and over paying for veterans that under produce. Kelly has some talent but he’s close to finding himself out of the league, if he doesn’t bounce back well from his injury a year ago.

August 2010: Kelly Done For Season
I held out hope that Malcolm Kelly could have a breakout third year this off-season. Unfortunately he injured his hamstring in July and then again, in August. Late in the preseason, the Redskins placed Kelly on injured reserve, and he should be back by the middle of the year.
2010 Fantasy Football Outlook
2009 Fantasy Year In Review: Until the final game of the year Malcolm Kelly was virtually nonexistent in the Redskins offense. For too long Washington has left this talented receiver inactive in the game plan, and it almost seemed like he was doomed to be a bust prospect.
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Kelly’s career may have been saved with the addition of new Coach Mike Shanahan as he told Kelly they were going to make him a big part of the offense in February. Maybe this was just talk to motivate the third year receiver, but it is hope that something can be accomplished.
So far, in OTA’s all is quite in Kelly’s progression but with the addition of Donovan McNabb in April, fantasy owners have to believe someone will breakout on this team. Fellow third year receiver Devin Thomas is getting all the pub in fantasy circles that he will be the player that breaks out this season.
While Thomas has the talent to do just that, I have my doubts as he’s failed to impress his coaches so far. This is a common trend of up and down with Thomas in his career and that doesn’t point to good things in the future.
Unless Kelly wins a starting job over Thomas this summer, he’s not worth selecting come draft day. Still, he has talent and solid supporting cast around him with the Shanahan’s and McNabb to give him potential success. If Kelly starts breaking out at some point this season, he will be a hot name on the waiver wire and could post a good season.
– Great Quarterback
– 7th Easiest Schedule To Pass Against
– Needs To Win Starting Job
– Much To Prove
– Shaky Offensive Line
