Fantasy Football Outlook: It was a slow rookie season for Floyd but he showed glimpses of hope down the stretch. Then again, it’s not like the offensive line prodded much help for quarterbacks, nor did the quarterbacks provide much help for the receivers in Arizona last year.
A new season, a new coaching staff and upgrades on the offensive line will help Floyd and others, but it remains to be seen whether Floyd will have a breakout season. I have a feeling it could take another year before Floyd becomes the weekly starting option, we hoped he would be coming out of Notre Dame.
Floyd has the skill to be a top 20 receiver in fantasy leagues, but with a respectable cast of pass catchers around him I’m afraid he will have a hard time producing at that level. If you target Floyd, look to him as an option late in your draft.

Summer 2012 Fantasy Projection
Despite pressing needs on the offensive line, the Cardinals opted to land a quality No.2 receiver to play opposite Larry Fitzgerald. Michael Floyd is arguably the top talent to coming out of the 2012 class of receivers, but it’s hard to say what his fantasy impact will be as a rookie.
The starting quarterback position is up for grabs between John Skelton and Kevin Kolb. Both will likely have to deal with a muddy pocket often and in this situation, I give Skelton the nod.
Look to Floyd as an inconsistent option for fantasy leagues. Fitzgerad will lead the team in targets, and Floyd should be the big playmaker.
In redraft leagues Floyd is a worthy late WR4, but it would be best if you can get him late as a WR5 on your squad. In dynasty rookie drafts, target Floyd as a first-round pick, no lower than the top ten selections.
