Fantasy Football Outlook: Just before hitting the accept button for a trade to acquire Brown in one of my dynasty leagues, I watched him haul in a touchdown catch and promptly leave the field on a cart. Brown dove in the end zone and the defender fell on his leg, clearly snapping his ankle.
While the Chargers claim this should be an eight-week injury, fantasy owners need to brace themselves for a longer time frame before we see him playing at the level he was in training camp.
Brown was ready to overtake Robert Meachem as a starter but this now opens the door for Meachem to remain in the starting lineup. Look to Meachem as nothing more than a WR4 as he’s struggled to fight for the football and still needs to round his game out.

2012, August: Brown Possibly Done For Year With Broken Ankle

2012, May: Fantasy Projections
Expect Robert Meachem and Malcom Floyd to start on the outside, but we haven’t heard the last of Vincent Brown’s name. Perhaps the best route runner on the team already, Brown is destined to become a solid possession receiver in this offense.
Whether it’s because of injury or ineffective play from the starters, Brown should find his way into the starting lineup at some point. Don’t look to Brown as a draftable option unless you’re in leagues deeper than 12 teams.
Keep an eye on the Chargers situation at receiver as the year moves along. If Floyd or Meachem are banged up or rumored to be benched soon, jump on Brown.
