Cleveland Browns

Cincinnati Bengals v Cleveland Browns

2009 Record/Standing: 5-11 | 4th AFC North

Offensive Stats:

Points 15.3 (29th) | Pass 130 (32nd) | Run 130 (8th)

Defensive Stats:

Points 23.4 (22nd) | Pass 244 (29th) | Run 144 (28th)

Brown Notes: A strong finish in December allowed Eric Mangini to keep his job as the head coach. While Mangini avoided being fired, he will probably need to lead the Browns to an eight and eight season to stay around for 2011.

Instead of just giving you current fantasy players from a particular organization, we have also included some of the best players and moments in each teams history. This way you get an idea of not just current events from an organization but where they’ve come from.

Teams with rich history for a curtain side of the football or a curtain position tend to want great players in those areas of their team in the future.

Other organizations are still young or haven’t had much success until this point in time and the best moments in their history are happening right now or in the future. Anyway from Dick Butkus to Barry Sanders we have some of the more memorable moments right here as selected from You Tube.

Before you’re 2010 fantasy football draft begins, it’s always good to see the schedule of particular players you’re prospecting for your future team.

While there is no guaranteeing which teams will be strong and which teams will be weak in a given season, it’s still good to have an idea of the opponents your players will face.

Once the 2010 – 2011 season has started, we will find out which teams are for real and which teams are going to fold up. Who would have thought the Bengals would go undefeated in their division and the Titans would start out losing their first six games in 2009?

Throughout the season, you can always come back to our site and use our schedules for each team and player for your reference. Alternatively, you can also print out or download the schedule as well.

Before The Draft: The Browns have many needs, and it wouldn’t hurt them to find a quarterback early in this years’ draft. Still, many rumors have the Browns selecting a safety in the first round to add more defense. Defense and running the football will be the Browns look in 2010 to win games.

First Round

7. Cleveland Browns – CB Joe Haden – The Browns are building for defense first. While I disagree with the trading away Wimbley and Williams, getting Joe is a solid addition. Still, this team has a long way to go.

Second Round

38. Browns Select: S T.J. Ward - The Browns have no future quarterback and they take a safety that went very early on Mel Kipers board. Kiper isn’t the end all but, hey, bad move should have gotten a quarterback.

59. (Trade) Browns Select: RB Montario Hardesty - Nice addition to Jerome Harrison in the running game but it would have been nice to see the Browns take Colt McCoy. I sure hope Delhomme has something left, he sure didn’t have it last year.

Rounds Three – Seven

Round 3. 85. Browns: Colt McCoy – Finally!!!! They even brought out McCoy’s old college coach to make the pick selection. This is the pick this team needs (probably should have selected him earlier) as they have no future qb.

Round 3. 92. Browns: OT Shawn Lauvao With their fifth pick in the first three rounds the Browns did a good job adding another offensive lineman to the team in Lauvao. Always good to have at least one lineman every year in the first three rounds.

Round 5, Pick 29 (160) Larry Asante SS

Round 6, Pick 8 (177) Carlton Mitchell WR

Round 6, Pick 17 (186) Clifton Geathers DE

Expect another bad year for the Browns’ offense as the team has a very young receiving core and an over the hill quarterback. Jerome Harrison and the running game will need to have a strong season in order to keep things respectable.

Fantasy Players
