New England Patriots

2009 Record/Standing: 10-6 | 1st AFC East

Offensive Stats:

Points 26.7 (6th) | Pass 277 (3rd) | Run 120 (12th)

Defensive Stats:

Points 17.8 (5th) | Pass 209 (12th) | Run 110 (13th)

Patriot Notes: With Tom Brady back under center the New England Patriots won the AFC East once again. However, it was easy to see that Brady was still recovering from his knee injury and the losses on defense took their toll. Because of these issues and the loss of Wes Welker in the final regular season game, the Patriots were beaten down at home by the Ravens in the first round of the playoffs. Expect the Patriots to come back strong this season as I’m sure their young defenders are ready to step their game up. Also, don’t be surprised if the team starts running the football more often as they attempt to keep Brady healthy.
From free agency to the Super Bowl, information is always changing year round for all 32 NFL organizations. From a fantasy football perspective, it’s almost impossible to keep up with all the changes and figure out what those events mean in terms of success or failure for a player or team.

This is why we have our current fantasy football information about each particular team right here in the articles’ section to help you. Feel free to scroll through the various topics and events that we have deemed worth paying attention to from not just a team perspective but fantasy as well.

Instead of just giving you current fantasy players from a particular organization, we have also included some of the best players and moments in each teams history. This way you get an idea of not just current events from an organization but where they’ve come from.

Teams with rich history for a curtain side of the football or a curtain position tend to want great players in those areas of their team in the future.

Other organizations are still young or haven’t had much success until this point in time and the best moments in their history are happening right now or in the future. Anyway from Dick Butkus to Barry Sanders we have some of the more memorable moments right here as selected from You Tube.

Before you’re 2010 fantasy football draft begins, it’s always good to see the schedule of particular players you’re prospecting for your future team.

While there is not guaranteeing which teams will be strong and which teams will be weak in a given season, it’s still good to have an idea of the opponents your players will face.

Once the 2010 – 2011 season has started, we will find out which teams are for real and which teams are going to fold up. Who would have thought the Bengals would go undefeated in their division and the Titans would start out losing their first six games in 2009?

Throughout the season, you can always come back to our site and use our schedules for each team and player for your reference. Alternatively, you can also print out or download the schedule as well.

Before The Draft: The Patriots need upgrades on the defense after losing so many veteran leaders in the past year. Look for this team to possibly go after a nice defensive end if one falls their way with their first pick.

Drafting in the later picks of the first round it will be interesting which players fall to this team and who they actually take.

First Round

27. New England Patriots: CB Devin McCourty - The Patriots needed an upgrade or five on defense as they have lost great players over the past year. Devin will help add another solid talent to a now dangerous secondary.

Second Round

42. (Trade) Patriots Select: TE Rob Gronkowski - This is another solid weapon for Tom Brady as Gronkowski is a good player for this team. Gronkowski should also help out in blocking as well.

53. Patriots Select: DE / LB Jermaine Cunningham- The Patriots needed more help on defense and Cunningham is another solid addition in the three – four system. This player can play both up and down.

62. Patriots Select: LB Brandon Spikes – Another linebacker talent for the Patriots. This team is doing what they need to do in getting good players to rebuild the defense.

Round Three – Seven

Round 3. 90. Patriots: WR Taylor Price - Will be hard for Price to find the field in 2010.

Round 4, Pick 15 (113) Aaron Hernandez TE – With Gronkowski and now Hernandez, Brady has a very nice tandem of tight ends.

Round 5, Pick 19 (150) Zoltan Mesko P

Round 6, Pick 36 (205) Ted Larsen OL

Round 7, Pick 1 (208) Thomas Welch OL

Round 7, Pick 40 (247) Brandon Deaderick DE

Round 7, Pick 41 (248) Kade Weston DT

Round 7, Pick 43 (250) Zac Robinson QB

The Patriots have lost key defensive stars in the past year but their younger players played respectable last season. If this team wants to go deep in the playoffs the defense needs to turn it up another notch.
